After months of repeated lockdowns and facing many obstacles in these difficult times, we are proud to announce that NEEMSIS 2 has finally been completed! 614 households have now been interviewed, from December 2020 to October 2021, concluding our 2nd wave of NEEMSIS. We now have three time points: 2010 (RUME survey), 2016-17 and 2020-21.
We have had to adapt our processes, from wearing masks to conducting our surveys outdoors or in well ventilated areas and limiting our travels by relying on the enumerators closest to each village. This new wave is now one of the first in-person surveys conducted in rural India post-COVID. We have gathered data between the two lockdowns (Winter 2020) as well after the second lockdown (Summer/Fall 2021), hence capturing the effect of the lockdowns at different time periods. We are now eager to share our first analyses with you.
